A Tail of a Tale
For those who don't know, we have 2 pets... a dog named Sarge and a cat named Dillon (we call him Dilly).
Dilly stays inside all the time. His food is in our hallway along with his bed and litter box. Neilie and Claire leave the litter box and bed alone...
but the food is a different story. Neilie refers to Dilly's food as "cat cookies or cat pood". (don't worry that /p/ for /f/ substitution is developmentally appropriate, wink wink).
Back to the story... one day Linda, my mother-in-law, a.k.a. Noni was keeping the girls at our house. She had been having trouble with Neilie attempting to eat the cat food. Noni kept telling her not to eat the cat food and she kept trying to eat it. Noni had tried lots of things to keep Neilie from eating it. Noni had one last resort... as Neilie picked up the "cat cookie" and held it close to her lips, Noni said, "If you eat cat food, you'll get a tail!". Noni said Neilie froze with the cat food piece right at her lip. She slowly turned to face Noni cutting her eyes right through Noni and in her most serious voice Neilie said, "I like-a tail!!!". We haven't stopped laughing about that since!
